How much is a privateer a pirate?

Times.
Today was evidence that sometimes busy can be good, although pressing the snooze button to many times can have consequences.
I was going to try and wake up at 6:15 (Probably for 7) and get loads of stuff done. What actually happened was that I overslept untill 10-something or other, and had to rush the rest of my day. Not as in it going badly because I made a rushed job of everything, just without really breaking in-between or going at a slow pace.
It was quite cool though, kind of 'time efficiant' if you know what I mean, and I love things to be time efficiant. At one point I could practically make a cup of coffee using the coffee machine and heated milk, in the absolute minimum time. (Without the milk that would just be boring.) The one thing I never quite managed was to get the kettle to stop boiling just after the coffee had finished filtering, so you could pour it asap. That is something I will aspire to.
Fencing is back. I know it was already back, but it's Monday so I get to practise killing people. Addmittedly, I didn't do so well on that particular front today, but every little helps and I think I might be getting a little better at lunging, and parrying a blow to the head comes pretty naturally.

But enough about me! Lets talk about.... .... Ok, wikipedia can't give me anything interesting to talk about, so I guess we can't talk about something interesting. If you have any suggestions leave a comment, and I may possibly take your ideas. However I probably might not as well.

I was thinking about that pirate essay I never wrote today, in that I wasn't sure if it was so fair to pitch the sucess rate of a pirate (Black Beard) and a privateer (Henry Morgan), so was considering changing it to Black Beard and Sam Bellamy because Sam Bellamy is another pirate that I like. It was whilst thinking these thoughts that I decided that on the grounds of 'most successful', where Black Beard and Henry Morgan are pretty close, Sam Bellamy was not. Although he was a great pirate (one of my favourite), with lots of treasure and fairly famous (There is a One piece character named after him after all.) he never really got to spend all that great weatlh (Unfortunatly storm when he was nearly home...) and I don't think he's as famous as either of the others. Even Henry Morgan has a rum named after him. (I think it's after him anyway. Apparently he did drink a lot, and that was how he died.). So I feel  that pitting a Pirate and a Privateer against each other is fairly fair (They're pretty much the same to the guys they're attacking) although I would have to take privateer advantages into account, but moreover it would give a much better debate than pitting one of them against someone else because a mon avis, they were the two most successful guys. I havn't however, read about every pirate ever, so if you have any contenters, please let me know. There is a comment bar for a reason.
Except Captian Kidd. That guy wasn't cool or successful.

(Sorry for the poor spelling guys, my spell checkers have stopped working/disappeared.)
Also, I am too tired to put pictures and links and colourfull texts. Maybe I'll come back and do it later. Check again in a few days or something...
Have a picture of a pig. I hope your happy with it.

  Post script:
I read about H.Morgan in a book  on pirates anyway. Surley that counts for  something.

Word.

It's really hot, and I can't be bothered to do anything.
I logged into minecraft in order to bake a minecraft related cake, and now I am stuck.
I thought I was over it. I'd finished. I'd got a base with a sign and a pumpkin and alot of lava. Then someone had to go and stress the point that you couldn't complete this game.
I was so close to never playing it again! And now I've rigged up music boxes to play the first two bars of 'one summers day', how did it come to this?
I don't even know how I feel. It's too warm to feel tired, and I'm not hungry (I had 1/2 a pint of milk for tea. Yeah, healthy eating guys. Go for it!). I don't even know.
I wish I could get my lecture recording stuff to work.
Maybe I am tired.
Yeah.
I don't even know anymore.
Yeah.

"Darn you minecraft for making us this way!" - Just say 'No' to minecraft.

Healthy eating

I have a very important message to tell everyone today. It starts with a story:

Once there was a person. Like most people, this person had to eat, but she was also fairly lazy and didn't like washing up. Often times she would eat pasta and rice and all sorts of ovenable bakable foodstuffs, but this was not what dietitians like to call a balenced diet. For although it was complete in the carbs/proteins/dairy, it was lacking  in the fruit and veg. Sometimes it would feel like it would be too much effort to put on an extra saucepan for carrots, and even more to wash it up afterwards. It's not like they would taste particularly good anyway. Healthy eating was for healty people with real cooking abilities, but do you know what?

This person was wrong.                  *que epic music*
Fruit and vegitables are an important part of daily eating, and they take no effort at all to cook. Shame on you if you cannot find the time whilst cooking your meal to put some peas on! They only take 4-5 mins.
If you're cooking anything in a saucepan, put your vegitables in with it! You don't even have to do any extra washing up. Rice and carrots, pasta and peas, this is the way to go. It even tastes good. I This Person did not know what she was missing. No longer is the basic meal pasta and cheese, now it is pasta, peas and cheese. Not only does this add alteration, but it also rhymes. What more could you want from a meal? Add some mushrooms, bacon and onion and it's not even pasta and cheese anymore.

Eat healthy people, you have absolutely no reason not to.

And yes, I am eating an apple right now.

Minecraft Cake?

Well last week was a busy week, attempting to get up for the unearthly hour of 8am every morning for the missions week daily prayer meeting thing. Earlyish morning is a very nice time of day, its just a shame that it's so difficult to be up in time to see it.
In baking news, I am planning on baking another cake. It's for Daemon107's mystery contest, so if you see me please ask me if I've done it yet. Especially as there are only a limited no. of spaces. (I tend to procrastinate a lot) I was going to start today, but I went out to buy icing and then I just fell asleep again. I don't know why I keep doing that. Also if you're in/around my halls and happen to have a rolling pin/couple of cake candles you don't want/camera I could use/borrow, could I please use/borrow them. [I am aware that it's unlikely you'll read this, so I'm probably going to ask around when I've finally baked this thing.] Or if your birthday is coming up and you really like minecraft. I'll put a picture up if/when I finally finish. I really really hope I do, I don't really want to win the competition or anything, but I'd really like to see what I can do with this cake design.

In 'not related to anything' news, I would quite like to go on an adventure. Not a long walk, or a spontaneous trip (although those are great things) but a proper adventure. The ones where everyone randomly meets up, get to know each other by going through things together while getting character developement and then having an epic finale together to show that they've learned something. That would be cool.

Finally in 'clothes' news, I'm thinking of wearing a dress tomorrow. I don't think its going to happen, but it's the  thought that counts. :)
Also why are all the good shoes only in size 4, and all the good trousers in size 14? And where did all the black vest tops go? I couldn't find any today. I think I left a lot of my stuff  back in London.

It looks like 57% of you won the stations game with Mornington cresent, and none of you live in a cave.

The Exams are ending.

So, lectures start again on Monday. It will be nice to get back to the everyday trudge of life. You need something like lectures to give your day a structure. Exams really take it out of you though, I finished my last exam went food shopping and then just fell asleep. It must have been all those late nights, so hopefully I've caught up on it now.
I think it would be cool to be 'that guy who works in the corner over there'. The one whose always in the corner of the office, like a piece of scenery. No one knows much about them, because no one asks. If someone brings them up, you can expect a 'who? Oh them.' Everyone just assumes they never do anything, they're not important to the plot. Exept every now n' again they'll say something important, or they'll be the one to notice what's going on. Kinda like that one guy in one of Terry Pratchetts books. Seriously that is a good book though, you should read it.
Yeah I really need lectures to start again. I'm starting to sink back into 'I don't need other people' mode. This is not a particularly good mode.

On a side note, apparently most of you would like to be the "but I thought you were my friend!" bad guy. I guess I should think twice before trusting you guys...

Crumbs and Creepiness

For everyone out there desperatly following the epic tale of what goes on in my life, it happened. The Imago staff came back, and cleaned my room. There I was, Biscuit crumbs on every side of me. I had no dustpans or hoovers, re-enforcements weren't arriving, all hope felt lost. Then, just as I was bracing myself for a last stand against this rising tide I heard it. The sound of distant hoovers. The calviry had arrived. I leapt from my chair to answer the knock at the door. It had been a tough journey (probably, I wasn't there or anything) but the Cleaning people had finally arrived. Everything was going to be ok. [I think it's imago I'm talking about, if not then you know who I mean.] As every great victory needs a feast and a ballad, I have composed a Haiku to record this event. (I don't have a feast or a Bard.)
Crumbs were everywhere
But you came with your hoover
Thank you imago.

On other notes while taking a break from revising I have been looking up this Slender man. Woah, this guy is creepy. I was mainly looking on Deviantart, its like a twisted version of where's wally. You may not see him at first, but suddenly he just jumps out at you.
I am going to stop looking him up now and do some more work ....

Also, I know its kinda irrelevent but whats relevent here anyways? I love the way background music can really convey what sort of stuff is going on, even if you just have the music. I have a few Bleach Ost's in the playlist I'm listening to right now, and sometimes you can really feel what could be going on. One piece feels so much like "Hahaha we are teamed up and you don't stand a chance", another "You are dead. You just said/did something to make me power up and beat you like the hero I am!". I like those "If you hear this music you are already sooo beaten" musics. They sound like epic.

Crumbs and spoiler tags.

Heyo! Another 'I'm supposed to be revising' post, but you'll be happy to hear that it will all be over on Friday, and I can go back to not bothering you with such regular updates.
From now on I'm putting spoilers in black highlights, like this. you can see them by highlighting the text with your mouse. For example, the award for best use of the line "there's no such thing as ghosts." goes to Red Vs Blue (reconstruction). That show gets epic. And hillarious. I am up to the penultimate episode in the series. XD the next one's Gonna be soo good! *

It's another day of sitting a computer today. I miss the ladys who used to come and hoover on Wednesdays, my room really needs de-crumbing, and I don't have a hoover or  know where to acquire one. I wonder what happened to them. Maybe there was a massive cleaning emergancy and everyone got called to the front line of crumb defence somewhere on the outskirts of LoBro. I hope they make it back ok. Till then I will try to fight of the rising flood of crumbs the best I can.
I watched 'The hungry Earth' last night. I don't know if it was knowing what's going to happen next week, or the fact that this has a proper "running around in the dark, outside with an Alien trying to kill me. In the dark." scene in it. I think stuff feels scarier in the dark. The whole provocation thing kept reminding me of Aizen from the last episode I watched of Bleach. That guy was so OP it wasn't even funny. Seriously.
Finally, (if you ever read this) I would like to thank Mr. Tarrant for introducing me to Die Arzte. German = Awesome.

*Click emoticon to see the guy who made it and stuff.

My Climbing wall

Exam leave time has got to be one the of the worst times for being healthy. You (I) spend all day in my room on a chair eating biscuits. I'll never be an action hero at this rate. Pleh. Lobro should have a climbing wall. Then if I was feeling like doing something slightly active I could go and have a shot at it.
It would have to have a ceiling climbing room. Better than that, it should have the monkey room from mile end, before they re-designed it (It doesn't even have monkeys anymore! Is it even a monkey room if there are no pictures of monkeys?) and without the massive blocks to climb around (because that made it to difficlut for me...). Also it should be open late, and without loads of other people, but not completely empty.
While we're at it, why don't we make it free for people called Ruth.
We need one of them. Although it still wouldn't help with exam times, because I would still be sitting round in my room 'revising' and would be unable to go out anyway. Unless we put it in some kind of time loop so that you never spent any real time there. Yeaah. I am a genius.
I don't really have time to put coloured text, fonts and exiting links in today. I guess its just bland text for you.

So, the votes are in on the hero team poll. Apparently y'all want to be the smart guy.

Hidden Quadratics

I have work so I can't talk right now, and I'm very  very distracted. Which is incredibly bad, but Calculus is just soooo evil and stuff.
In order to get myself not to get distracted here, you can have the product of my previous distraction. (Because that will render me unable to use Blogger for the rest of the day)

A blustery night

Its very windy right now. Which is cool, I love it when its windy.
You should definitely try sitting on a windowsill in the dark with the window open when its windy. Preferably with the curtains shut behind you, and a warm fridge on the other side of you. Its pretty cool, and is a nice mix of hot and cold (Untill your arm starts feeling like its going to freeze off). There's also lots of pretty lights outside at night.
I don't know why I've never done this before.
Apparently the wind is always stronger around Towers (the hall) because of it being a large tower. I was fairly almost possibly tempted to go down and check it out, but I didn't think it was the best idea to go wandering around randomly at 00:42, and its not my hall so I don't really have any business to be there.
It does sound cool though. I can hear the wind blowing past my window.
If its still like this tomorrow I might trek down to towers anyway and see if they were right.

[Sorry if I was a little grouchy eariler, I'm better now. I hope you are having nice weather tonight as well.]
I like weather.

Small edit: Hey guys, thanks for poll voting. You guys rock, whoever you are!

Wednesday, 2 February 2011

Woo. Happy new february.

So what up guys? Me? Yeah I kinda blew it on my Geometry (seriously how many times do I keep trying to write geology? Maybe I'm on the wrong course.) paper. Sorry. I was going to try and carry the revision mood over and do y'all a nice little sketch of preparing to revise if I felt like I did well, but I didn't so you don't get one. If I go down, I'm taking everyone else down with me.
I felt a bit bummed (Can I say that? They say it in those goofy awesome movies. Please don't hate me!) but a bottle of coke, ATFW and both the 'family of blood' dr who episodes later and I'm feeling much better now. Thanks for asking. If you think I'm really into Dr Who atm, your probably right, but I have good reason! It's one of the only good things on iPlayer, and I also acquired 2 DVDs over Christmas. Having loads of something really gets you into it. The Tom Baker one was pretty funny. An Evil wooden puppet from the future with the soul of pig (yeah, the soul of a pig) who hates humanity and wants to kill every one, was a pretty good idea for a villian. And those invisible laser guns were pretty efficiant. People started falling over before you even press the trigger sometimes. I also loved the way they managed to end it on such a happy note. You never really get that in Dr who. Someone's always sad to see him go, unless everyone's dead.
In this one they all went and got muffins. I'm not even sure anyone realised he was a timelord.
Anyway. I've done a David and gone on for ages about something I wasn't even going to talk about. Sorry if I'm using too many words. They sometimes put me off stuff, so I don't really like inflicting loads on other people.
Which brings me on to what I was actually going to say. I don't think it really matters what any of you think about this blog. I had a conversation, which spawned a thought about what a blog is for. I don't know why people blog, and I don't know why people read blogs. If I were you I wouldn't read this. It's not interesting to people who aren't me. Its just a load of stuff about what's in my kitchen, and currently Dr Who. Its not even funny, but that's ok because tbh I'm pretty sure this isn't written for you. Unless you're my antimatter dopple ganger (if so, please don't come near me. I don't want to have to try and kill you) or you're somehow me.
Even then, I'm not sure you would enjoy reading this. You have you're own life to live, and you should live it to the full.I know its hard, trying to be yourself when there's two of you, but we can do this.
Anyway, as far as I'm aware nigh on nobody reads this, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Its not really a good thing either, as it just means I'm wasting my time and nobody votes on the polls. (I like knowing how y'all think...) I like talking to text boxes.
So to cut a really long story long, I think its time to change the point of this blog. Many posts ago I think I said something about wanting to talk about all that crazy stuff that goes through my head. I don't think that's the case anymore. From now on the point of this blog is to write down what I want to write down in this text box. Prehaps we'll talk about some crazy stuff, maybe you'll gain a little more insight into the mind of me, (Seriously if you're trying now, give up now. I have a spider diagram and I still don't get where I'm coming from) or maybe I'll just whine about exams. You can waste your life reading about my life if you want.
Hey. If you're happy, I'm a little bit happier. Because I like it when people are happy.
I'm also pro 'starting sentances with the word because'.
Oooh, Oooh! Also, I was looking up this song which I had stuck in my head (The record Rattigan plays when he leaves Basil in the Death trap) when youtube told me that this was related [Obvious link]. You may not think this is cool, but I think these guys are very cool. It's so accurate!

[Sorry if this does not make you happy. I guess my happiness level is still a bit low, whereas I usually blog on +epic or +happy. Family of blood is one really awesome ep, but in some inexplicable way, it doesn't reach those levels of epic/happy. - next up, Blink Rvb season 2-3]
