Oven Conspiracies

I arrived home today to find the back door open. Not that this is particularly unusual because its a rather nice slightly warm day, which practically counts a heatwave compared to the freezing cold that's been raging around these past few weeks. I'd taken my time walking back from church, and my house mate has a car so she had probably arrived much earlier and was enjoying the sunshine in the garden. Except that she wasn't.

After taking a look round and locating the fish pond, (which actually a giant plant pot, and I think that's pretty cool) I briefly looked round the house and could see no sign of her. This lead me to wonder why the back door was open at all. The door itself is quite stiff and usually locked, and I extremely doubt my house mate forgot to shut it before going out. (It's more likely I forgot to lock it after opening it on Friday to let some air through, but even then it's a bit too convenient that it would open all by itself right when the weather was looking up.)
The oven started playing up last night (and still is), and before turning in for the night she was going to tell me something as we passed in the hall (before she was interrupted by the oven alarm for my evening meal.) At the time I thought nothing of it; it sounded like something about not seeing me on Sunday morning which is not particularly usual as we rarely see each other on Sunday mornings (she gets up a good few hours before me), however in hindsight I realise I only assumed this was what she was saying.
What she could have been trying to tell me was that the ovens were uprising and that she was planning on stopping them by travelling to a different plane via the invisible portal in the garden and would probably be around much today.
In which case I should probably not shut the back door because when she returns from her adventure she would find herself locked out in the back garden.
However I do not believe this is entirely the case as my house mate is pretty level headed and would have left me a note or a text to let me know not to shut the back door if this was the case.

In the great scheme of things one cannot simply assume that one's house mate does not want you to shut the back door because she is on a crazy adventure to stop the ovens as this is not a very practical thing to assume. Indeed I do not even know if the ovens are the cause of this whole fiasco: maybe the oven breaking was simply the first sign of something yet to come, they might have even been defending the earth from attack but were recently attacked themselves and can no longer both defend the earth and cook food properly.

It is more likely that my house mate found herself embarking on an adventure through the garden portal to suddenly to leave a note (hopefully of her own will and not because she was abducted by lawnmowers; I notice we do not have one of these, so there is a chance she knew a little of the situation before hand. If this is the situation at all.) and that last night she attempting to warn me that something might be going down but that she did not know the situation entirely at the time.

Hence I will shut the back door (for it grows a little cold.)
Either my house mate will return from her sudden crazy adventure, after which I'm sure a closed back door will be the least of her worries, or she just went to a friends house after church (a common enough occurrence) and there are some crazy mysteries going down. (In which case I should shut the door anyway and pretend not to have noticed anything strange, lest I too end up caught up in some crazy intergalactic war of household appliances.)

Except with more lawnmowers and Ovens..

Half stabrgbldsx

Hey guys blog!
I got a little high towards the end of work today. I didn't mean to, but it ended up in a conversation about dopplegangers (which I think I've spent a little too much time thinking about to warrant normal. However after this conversation I have now concluded that if I had a doppelgänger clone who time travelled from the past, it would probably be ok because she'd still know the password around ten years ago. Also I'm sorry if I weirded you out work guy, weirdness is for fun times, not for work times. Kudos for finding my blog though.) Anyway I digress!

I was kind of interested as to why. I had eaten most of a Crunchie bar earlier, but that was earlier. The amount of coffee I had consumed was at the higher end of my standard, but still standard. It wasn't that late.
Does chocolate even make you happy? Everyone says that it contains brain dolphins that make you happy,  but I never really noticed chocolate actually making me happy. Brain dolphins are a lie.

My sister came up last weekend and we finished Cowboy Bebop.
Best. Anime. Ever.
If you haven't seen it, you really have too. It's really short, but every episode is brilliant.
I might buy the series one day, but series are expensive.

Also I dyed my hair purple, and someone said "You've dyed your hair purple."
This means it's officially purple, and I can now say I've died my hair purple and can check that metaphorical box.

Anyhoo.

See You Space Cowboy....

Words and Numbers

Words. They look really friendly from a distance. They seem to be having a really fun time, calling out for you to throw off the constraints of right and wrong that numbers always seem to lumber you with.
"There's no wrong answer with words." they say,
"We can be anything you want us to!"
"We're fun, we have interesting punctuation!"
Then it turns out it was all a lie. Yeah, maybe there is not 'right' answer, but there's still plenty of wrong ones. Now there's a sliding scale of opinionated right and wrong so you can't even tell if the words you have are the right words anyway. It's not as easy as pouring your soul out onto a piece of paper, you can't get carried away. The words have standards. They need to be polite, efficient. So you end up sitting there staring at the words you have, wishing they'd become the words you wanted. As opposed to staring at the numbers you have, wishing they were the numbers you wanted. (Although you don't seem to end up staring at the words you have, wondering if you got them in the correct manner.)
So I have established that words and numbers are both just as interesting as the circumstance and subject matter, and that the grass is always greener on the other side of the alphabet.

Then I got distracted and wrote a blog post about it, because I didn't want to write any more report.
It's not like anyone needs this report, I think I'm only writing it because Loughborough want to make me do more work. It's not like I have a job or anything.
I was told that one of the few benefits of work was that you didn't get homework.

Also I've decided that no one reads this any-more. You and I both know that most our page views were from Russian ghosts, and the other couple are probably just people who got a bit lost on their journey round the web. If that's you by the way, feel free to stay a while. Rest up, get you're bearings; I think there are some signs of civilisation about 3 miles north of here.

Anyway, since it's just us now... well TBH nothings really going to change. I guess it's a bit quieter with all the non existent metaphorical people gone, but they never really seemed to make much noise in the first place.

I should probably get back to this report. I'll try to stop by again soon.

Exploshuns.

I don't  know about clones, but if I have a long lost twin, I'm pretty sure they got shot in the shoulder on Friday. I can feel it.
Although as we've never met I'm not sure we'd have that sort of a connection. It all depends on how those sci-fi fantasy twin connections work. I'm pretty sure you can't feel your clones getting shot. Unless you're the clone, then you could potentially feel the original getting shot, because you would be a part of them but they wouldn't really be a part of you.
Maybe I'm a clone then, and the original me got shot. Original me must have a pretty exciting life if she got shot in the shoulder three days ago and she's still going. I bet she's in some sort of a rebellion in a parallel universe. (She'd still have to be the original  as you can't just feel parallel universe feels. )
Hopefully she'll get some medical attention soon, because I'm getting slightly tired of my shoulder hurting.

Back in this universe, I sort of gate crashed the most mental firework display yesterday.
It was a small neighbourhood display I walked past, and then walked back to and stopped at for a bit, but they seemed to be aiming at recreating the apocalypse with fireworks. They had loads of massive display size rockets, and they were going off pretty low so that the sparks would get rather close and sometimes bounce a couple of times on the pavement. Accompanied by the sticks and card, because there wasn't much wind. You had to be there. It was amazing.
Portsmouth really seems to do guy Fawkes in a big way, there have been fireworks all over since Friday.

In other news, my new work place has no dress code. However 80+% of people wear suits, and we have casual Fridays, so I have translated this dress code as wear suits (mainly because they are cool), but no shoes. I didn't think anyone would notice, but after someone complimented my socks, and one guy asked if I couldn't afford shoes, I'm starting to think maybe I should revise this translation. What do you guys think? Should I conform to this non dress code of wearing shoes?

I haven't been blogging because having a job is pretty crazy, and also I procrastinate but I'll try to keep it up when I can because I enjoy doing it.
Now excuse me, I have to make some macaroni cheese and maybe start on a new super cool cake.

So I'm back. Mostly because I don't know whether to go to bed or go to the computer labs, so I thought I'd compromise and hang out on the lines, and now my computer's thinking about stuff so I thought I'd hand out here for a bit.
I re-discovered Biro recently. They are amazing pens, I love the way the just flow so smoothly over paper. Although they do tend to make my handwriting pretty illegible, which is one of the many reasons I don't tend to used them when doing work. This is the other reason:

It's a long story.
I tend to get pretty distracted while holding a biro.
To be fair, my A.I lecturer goes really slowly, and it was a double.
Seriously though, they are the nicest pens for shading, because they don't just draw in block colour.
Actually biro ink is pretty weird. It's really thick and sticky, and is a right pain if it get's spilt, but it works because it never absorbs into the page.
Also it smells a bit weird, but I've encountered weirder smelling inks before. Like the black ink in my fountain pen I used to use. It smelt really nostalgic and sort of like, cinder-y?
However after smelling some biro drawing, I realise that black biro smell similar to this. Maybe this is just the smell of ink, or at least black ink.
Or maybe Terezi was right, and colours do all have tastes and smells, maybe this is the smell of black? Probably not though.
If you want to know more about ball point pens, you can look it up. I recommend Wikipedia.

Aren't they just magical?

Looks like my computer has finished thinking, and decided that it can't play any steam related things after all.
I shall now proceed to go to bed (even though I like, totally already slept and stuff) because I still have crazy amounts of group project to do.

Bland Title Goes Here

I wrote this post over a few days, and then deleted it because when I write stuff over a long period of time it tends to get really rubbish and pointless.
So now I'm starting again. Although I'm pretty sure I have even less to say now.

I don't really have the thoughts to spare at the moment, but I'm enjoying having a nice and colourful bag, new shoes and clothes that aren't full of holes. I've also aquired Fruit Tea for all you fruity/cammomiley tea people. (+5 host skills) It smells pretty ok really, so I might even try some at some point.

Work is everywhere, all the time and it doesn't seem to be going down any, and I've learned some stuff I probably don't need to know about e/i/pi, but it was pretty interesting. Still having backstory troubles though. I don't really want any sads in there.
My computer is still a bit messed up, but I don't think I've told you about that yet. Long story short, some it help h guy broke my computer and deleted all my stuff, then my mum fixed it but it's not quite back and I may never be able to play minecraft again. Or at least until I decide to install some drivers or something, but I don't think that would be a very constructive thing to do right now.

Also, Hey Russia! I see you've been reading my blog recently. Thanks, I didn't know you cared.
Except now I have a mental image of Russia from Hetalia reading this, and that's pretty scary.

Waking up to early

Let me tell you the epic tale of what happened to me this morning:

I was somewhere, doing something. Something really really important. It looked like it was going well, and I think we were really going to make it when all of a sudden things went wrong. I'm not entirely sure what happened but it was very loud and may have involved flashing lights. I turned to shout at my co-worker (I'd say more but I can't remember) and was half way through my sentence of utmost importance when everything went.
It took me a good few seconds to register exactly what had happened. The lights weren't flashing anymore (if they were in the first place) and the room was dark, but the siren-like noise was wailing on. Also I had moved.
It was vitally important that my co-worker of some description knew what I was saying, but suddenly I didn't know who they were, or where I had been, or what I had been saying. I didn't really get what was going on, especially why the sirens were still wailing but I knew I had to remember what I had been saying.
It was then that the rest of my brain started to wake up and told me I was in my room, it was 5:37 and the fire alarm was going off. I wondered for a little while on what this meant, but brain was already on it. "Shoes, coat, out."
My heart was still going pretty fast, my head was still trying to catch what was going on and I still really needed to know what I had been saying but I somehow managed to shoe, coat and out.
On the way back from the common room I realised that I would never know what I had been saying or doing, so I might as well stop trying to remember.
I needed a cup of tea to calm my 'really bad at suddenly getting up and still a bit out of it'-ness, (I still felt like I'd had a bit of a shock really) but in a handleless cup it was too hot to hold. So I went to have a nap instead, and overslept.
And this is why I missed the 8am prayer meeting today. (Luckily no lectures till 10, or I'd have missed that too.)

And it is also why fire-alarms shouldn't go off while your in mid-sentence about something really important.

The disappointing lack of exits

This is mostly another kind of "I'm alive" post. I have much work at the moment (but it's Sunday today so I'm not worrying about it.) so I haven't really had time for the bloggings, but mainly I guess I haven't really had that much to say. Every time you finish a piece of coursework, two more pieces spring up to take it's place. What's more, the subject that everyone ( I believe ) has been having a lot of trouble with, just said that we're going to get a big piece of coursework, and failing it could mean we fail the whole module.

Picture it like this:
You're in this massive building slowly fighting off this bad guy. Some sort of growing sludge monster or hoard or something. Eventually you realise that you can't beat it and you're just slowly retreating further up the building (it has multiple floors). You and your friends decide that the best thing to do is to try and hold it off for as long as you can until you reach the roof, from which you will make your escape. (Parachute, helicopter  take your pick.) After a lot of shouting and guns and running and shouting, you finally all make it to the top floor, only to see that the roof hatch is locked and padlocked.
That is pretty much what happened. (Auto correct just tried to correct my version of happened into hair-brained. )
Although I was quite surprised when I turned to my friend and said "It's like we've reached the roof hatch, but it's locked!", she totally agreed and said she felt the same way. That doesn't happen very often.

More cheerful news involves my mum posting me an advent calendar (which makes it nearly Christmas), and me cooking real food at long last.
Last Post's poll results came in. It turns out that you guys don't have the same favourite type of lights as me and 'fire' was a clear winner.
Also I'm currently trying to put a dodge ball team together (I started today, and need it arranged by Tuesday... ) for the Christians In Sport dodge ball tournament on Friday. So far there are two of us, and our proposed team theme is 'a garden'. We'll just have to see how that turns out really.
Well, not much else to say, sorry this wasn't quite very interesting.
I'd say that if we tried hard enough we could finally beat David in the age old battle of the most page veiws, but quite frankly this post isn't worth it. I'll try again some other time.

Sleepless night

So I have a fair few things to say, because I couldn't say them these past couple of days because I was working, but firstly: God is Brilliant.
I love that he totally cares about me. Today for instance, I had an online test due in midnight today and I always leave these literally right up to the last minute, but things weren't going too well this morning. Basically I didn't sleep at all last night. I was looking at my maths and getting a bit stuck when I noticed my clock said 7:xx am, and that it was bright outside. Which isn't really smart when you're planning to do an online test you're finding fairly difficult later in the day. So I went to church this morning, expecting to crash out suddenly and fall asleep somewhere when the pastor mentioned the evening service and I remembered that I really wanted to go. So to cut a long story short I was like :
"Hey God, I really want to go to evening service today but I can't if I haven't done this test and I'm not going to take the test without doing enough revision. Right now I'm looking at about 3-4 out of 8 (yes there were only 8 questions.) but I'd kindof like 6/8. Well I'd like 8/8 but 6/8 seems pretty reasonable, and I'd probably go to church on a 5/8 if it came to it. It's just that I haven't had any sleep at all so I'm probably going to crash out which will ruin everything anyway, so please help me to revise for this test, and to not need any sleep at least until after service, because I don't think anyone will mind if I fall asleep in Student Plus. I know you can totally do this, and I'm gonna try and be soo focused in these next few hours I'm not going to do anything except work. Please make this work."

So now here I am, I haven't slept in 32 hours, I finished my test well in time for evening service and got 100% in it and I don't even feel the slightest bit tired. I haven't even been drinking loads of coffee all day. Brilliant. I love God.

Other things I wanted to say but couldn't because I was working are:
Hey guys, I've just started putting up my Greek Alphabet of cool fictional stuff, but I'm still missing a few letters. If you have anything for Beta, Zeta, Epsilon or any of them really please say. Stuff like Alpha from power ranges, Lambda from Half life and mew from Pokemon. Much appreciated.

Also if I ever get a house, I really want a picture of a misty forest with the slenderman in it to put on my wall. One of those ones where you can't see him straight away, but if you're looking at the picture for a fair amount of time he suddenly jumps out at you even if you weren't looking for him. A little like this one,(couldn't put actual picture because of protection stuffs.) it's just that you can't get them anywhere. Picture shops should sell more slenderman pictures for people to put on their walls, because all the good ones are just on the web. I suppose I could print one out and frame it, but the resolution would probably end up really low. Still it would be cool.

Night time wanderings

Walking back home tonight was ace. I love the night.
There was a slight mist around so the street lights were surrounded by orbs of their orangey light, gleaming off the wet pavement to match the sparse stars gleaming above.(I'm pretty sure I saw Orion up there, but honestly who can tell anyway) I walked back along the main road, so it was never particularly dark but I think the light from the rest of the uni leaves a dim light lying around anyway but there still feels like a strong contrast between the shining path and the dark dip beside the football pitch and the small patch of trees. Their leaves constantly dropping with a soft rustle'y splat. Who knows what kind of Lovecraftian Horrors lurk there? (Well clearly there weren't any tonight anyway, but from a distance the tree's can often look like a certian Eldritch Abomination. S'not as bad as a dense forest anyway.)
A few early/late (not quite sure, it was 2am) birds were chirping, and there was the hum of the dormant gym and soft buzz of the road as I passed them but other than that it was pretty quiet.
I love this mix of light and dark, quiet and sound, natural and man made stuff. It's a sort of a shame that walking about in it is enough to cause people a bit of concern.

Also as a side note, it's not a good idea to eat loads of cake and then spin really fast on a spinney chair. Blerg. :/

My Super Power

A thought of mine that is always up for change is 'If I had a superpower, what would it be?' Normally I'd say I'd quite like the power of super speed because a)It's awesome and b) I wouldn't have to pay for trains anymore, but I don't really think that's the super power for me. At the moment (because it does tend to change) I think I'd have/like to have the power of 'awesome to atmosphere' ratio.
It's a bit like the Ticks 'power of drama' except more controlled by a mix of atmosphere, emotion, belief in what you can do and reactions, so at it's most basic if you feel you should be able to do something then you can. With the most common aspect being 'leat-ness (like combo's in computer games) and materialising temporary semi-visible objects because those are the things I feel I should be able to do most. So you could probably do that say, at night in the street with your i-pod on something a bit awesome, or if you got into a fight probably at night. (Because things feel more awesome at night.) If stuff started getting really crazy, there was a massive super-villain with mooks battle and you were feeling completely overwhelmed, you could probably freeze time, if something jumped out at you, you could probably make an energy shield and if a zombie was coming at you you could materialise a gun, and if that didn't work blast it with an energy beam (So a bit like Inception), but you couldn't just do something because you felt like it or for some sort of mundane task.
The downside would be that you could probably never fly (because it's not really a spur of the moment thing) or go super fast (except within a small area, such as in a fight or possibly to run away) as well as the fact that you could only be awesome when you were feeling awesome. I'd probably need to have an i-pod on me alot of the time, and accept that I was less likely to be super powered in the middle of the day.
Probably vulnerable to psychological attacks, and situations I couldn't think of a way to get out of properly.
Don't worry, he can dodge that.

Post script:
Someone did say this was pretty much atmospheric dependant omnipotence, which it basically is.
If I had a less powerful super power I would like (as I already said) super speed. Probably followed by invisibility.

Caffeine Free

Sooo, no more coursework for a while. I got some sleep, stopped drinking as much caffeine and now I feel much better thank you. Yeah that's pretty much all I had to say.
I guess in other news there are quite a few films coming out that I'm interested in how they do. There's Tin Tin and The Muppet's, both of which could very well fail but might pull it off and I think the first has a better chance of doing well. Also it's got the cool guy from Jumper in it, you know the one with the accent who knew what he was doing. The musketeers film looks like it could be cool, I mean it had blimps in the trailer. It looks a bit like they might have taken the bad bits from the first movie and reversed them, but I guess I'll have to wait and see.
In other vaguely related news ATFW did manage to pull of a brilliant reveal for the entity arc. I really didn't think he could do it (and was setting myself up for some major anticlimax) but he did. It felt so completely out of left field, but it made so much sense. So much sense in fact that quite a few people had apparently guessed it, because literally everything fitted in. And that is one of the many reasons why I love continuity, some times it all comes together in one big 'seriously how did I not see that' Blam. Epic.
I'm not really stopping for long, I just thought I'd rather put more of a bright and happy post up now that I'm feeling bright and happy again.

Aside Script : Once again it's nearly Poster Time, I don't think I'll need your help this time round [A bunch of help you all were last time .... ] but I'll shout if I need any ideas. Better yet, you shout if you have any ideas.
I've done TF2 and a Full Life Half Life Consequences so I was thinking of doing something different. (The one I have in mind atm is RvB) but ideas from either of them are welcome as well.

Being in a film

Do you ever think it would be cool if your life was part of a movie? It would be kind of funny if every time you wrote a letter you got a voice-over reading it aloud, and background music depicting how you felt at appropriate moments. I guess it would depend on what sort of movie you were in, and it would mean that everything would go down-hill in the middle. Especially if you were writing a letter, because the only movies I can think of where people write letters are the Jane-Austin'y  ones and everyone knows you can't have a good romance without loads of mis-understanding and communication problems that turn everyone against each other. Although that would probably be better than everyone getting eaten by a dinosaur or something. Yeah, I don't think being part of a movie would be fun after all. I've seen The Truman Show and Stranger Than Fiction. People in movies in movies seem to spend the whole time trying to get out of them. Which I guess is pretty sad because ultimately they end up staying in the movie, but there's a whole other level of movie out there that they don't even realise. That should be a metaphor or something. It's a bit like what I think may be the plot of one of the matrix films I haven't seen yet. Although even if they don't make it out side of the film as we're seeing it, at least they get to change the ending to a happier one. Besides, background music would get kind of annoying, and it's not like you can hear it if you're in the film anyway.

On a similar note I saw 'The Lost World' (The Conan Doyle version) recently. I think I like bad movies more than people are supposed to, because I thought it was really great. It has Dinosaurs, English people, Guys with hats and guns, it was fairly predictable but not entirely (I was waiting so long for this one guy to die, and he lived right through. He played the wife and children card. Although it actually turns out that none of the main characters died, BBC wussed out at the last minute) and I even got a fairly decent argument out of it with my sister about who was right in the end (The scientist guy or the hunter guy).
I picked up a copy of the book recently though, and it seemed really hard to read. It had a lot of long words and descriptions in it. Also I couldn't immediately tell what was going on when I opened it randomly about 3/4 through. Which is probably a really bad way to judge a book, but whatever. Apparently Jules Verne is a bit like that, so I might give up on trying to find a copy of 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' and try and watch the film instead.

That's about it from me tonight then, thanks for sticking around. Tune in next time for some more pointless ramblings (or maybe not, who can tell?), but until then I hope you have a wonderful day, and "in case I don't see you 'good afternoon, good evening and goodnight!'"

And I had a really great Birthday, thanks for asking. I got some cutlery so now
I don't have to eat all my food with a spoon.

Adverts

Ok, first of all:

               :LOL:ROFL:ROFL

 O===                        \

         -----------------------

Because I made it on Davids blog, but he apparently took it out. Or made me take it out. I can't remember.
I don't really have that much to say, I have revision and I may be getting 'inside syndrome', but no one really wants to hear about that so I though I'd revert to my original blog plan. Talking about random stuff, in a place where people can choose not to listen, so I don't bug anyone.

Adverts. I have a TV in my London home. My TV shows adverts and yesterday it showed me this advert (the newest bbc). It's not the best advert ever, but I thought was a pretty good advert, especially because it made me think of this advert (the lovefilms ad) which was ok, but I always thought there was something missing from it. It felt like it could have been a lot better, although I couldn't say how.
Everyone has different opinions on what better than what, and what makes people want to buy stuff. I guess the whole advertising industry is about target audiences, and what they think is cool. (If this is the case, why did they make the cravendale ads so cool? Nobody the generation above me seems to like them that much, and as far as I' aware they're the people who buy the most milk.) Even so, there have got to be some adverts that are just rubbish.
I mean does anyone seriously like those shaky camera 'home movie' style toothpaste adverts? And life insurance adverts. These ones are probably waaaay outside my 'being in target audience' but I have seen a cool life insurance advert, so I know it's possible. Although me liking it probably means the people it was intended for don't as much. I'm just too cool.
Finding the links for and writing this post has caused me to change my mind slightly on adverts as a whole.  I wanted to compare the Halo reach advert with the  Gears of war 3 ad that kept showing all the time, but the one I found was extended and slightly better. I still think the Halo reach one is better, but thinking about stuff for too long makes all my thoughts tend slightly towards neutral. Does anyone like the Gears one better? And why?
Are they aimed at different people? Because the halo one at the time made me wish I liked FPS's a bit more, whereas the other really didn't.
Also because it's a bit late, I'm just going to conclude with the fact that beer adverts are usually cool.

I'm tired now, so I'm going to bed.

Also, Shock of all horrors the coffee machine has stopped working! Alas for now we are without coffee! Indeed it was a sore blow to us all. Well to a few of us anyway, but we shall try our best to plunder on without for as long as we may need. At least we still have a kettle.

Dear Statistics

Statistics what happened to you? Last time I checked, you were full of coloured diagrams and quirky exclamation marks. Now you have long formula's involving F's and X's and ... calculus.
How did this happen? Who did this to you?
I'm sorry I forgot about your exam, and I know I only left a day or so to revise for you but still. It comes as a bit of a shock to the system to realise you've changed so much.
You're not the topic I used to know. I can see traces of what I knew in you but now there's so much more. I need a little time to adjust to this.
Unfortunately all I have is 2 hours.
If I do really badly in this exam, please don't think I hate you.
I assure you I really enjoyed your lectures, your colours and the anecdotes that came with your crazy examples. Whatever happens, I'll remember you for your perms and comms, P(A)'s and those funky tables, not the calculus and Central Limit Theorems.
Ruth.

Printer Problems

Sooo it turns out I have next to no time untill a lot of exams, and part of that came as a little bit of a surprise. (Stupid calenders and me not looking at them.) So I'm going to go right ahead and ignor that fact for the next small amount of time because it doesn't make me very happy.
I should have listened more to the Revision Clock of Doom. He's been on my calendar (well the picture of him) telling me to revise since June 1st. I was going to make the JavaComic my revision comic (the comic I draw while revising) but I haven't really been as insanely distracted as I usaually am.
I saw a mini rant/reveiw thing today about someone's worst cliches, and one of the things they mentioned was the 'liar being revealed' as not who they said they were thing (if this ever happens to you, and it does get to the point where it suddenly gets revealed who you really are, just roll with it. Most likely while your off somewhere thinking about the meaning of life and who you really are, something really bad and unaviodable will happen where you just left and you'll be just in time to get back and save everyone.) although a similar thing I find more annoying (although yes if it wasn't for this a lot of movies wouldn't go anywhere) is the lack of communication, or worse people just plain old not listening.
Like in the bourne something or other (I've only seen them in a marathon, they kind of joined together). That guy flat out didn't listen to JASON BOURNE, who was trying to save his life. The best there was.
In fact the whole of that series could have been resolved a lot quicker with a lot less voilence if people just communicated a little better. They're on the phone enough during the films. Everyone just second guesses each other the whole time and asumes the worst.
Clearly if your reasoning goes anything like "Why is that guy not talking to us? Why did he go to his bank? HE MUST BE TRYING TO KILL EVERYONE!!1!!!" you're just asking for trouble.

Also I think life hates me today. Especially the printer part of life. First it printed all of my notes only using 1/16 of the page, then it printed them (2 pages per page, dual sided) ordered 2,1,4,3,6,5. There is no way you could ever get those pages back in the right order.
Even if you cut them up into A5 pages, they'd still have the wrong number on the back. Why is there even a printer setting to do that?

Also (again. Does anyone know any good words for also? I really need some.Comment them below and  the best ones will get used in this blog!) I've found another way to get myself motivated. Stuck, don't want to work, feeling like you have too much work to do?
Put on some epic'y music (of the batman type variety) and tell yourself that your a science guy on the save the world team. Its nothing to lose and eveything to gain! Would *favourite science guy* give up? Would they decide it was too hard to try? Only if they were having a BSOD moment, and all that means is that someone needs to tell them to pick them self up and get back at it. 'Cuz maybe you failed one time, or maybe it looks like too much, maybe it doesn't look like you stand a whelks chance in a supernova but your going to try it anyway, and your not going to stop trying untill its all done and over.
Because you're just that kind of person.

Yeah it may not work forever, and evenutally the music will stop and you'll stop thinking like that but its a start. If it gets you working then its all good.

I should get a blog

So I guess I fulfilled, or at least backwards fulfilled or did not fulfill or something 'd my reason for having a blog today. ish.
Anyway, someone suggested that I got a blog or something so that I could ramble on about stuff and people only had to listen if they wanted to. That way, a special select few could be happy knowing that I'm thinking about the coolest way to have sword form'ey hands or where to draw the line in hat coolness/ease of drawing in a comic, while everyone else could be happy not listening to me go on about it.
Which is kind of what I set out to do in the first place. I guess all that really means is that someone re-enforced the idea that I should get a blog. And seeming as I already have a blog, that is kind of redundant. But it made me happy, so that is perfectly ok by me.

On the topic of 'swords for hands', I don't think you could get much of a sword fight done if you had actual swords where you hands should go, because of the angle and stuff. You'd need more of a wrist. Still its a tad more intersting than just having a sword, so I guess it would be cool if said person had mastered the sword-hand as a weapon previously.

I guess it's on to revsion now, as I start my month of exams and the suchlike. Hope that all goes well and all.

Thus ends our brief interlude.

I can't remember what I was going to say last post, so I'll just have to leave it as a picture of a kitten. Now that C++ is all out of the way and  my laptop is back, charged and letting me use blogspot again, I guess I can start writing here again. Not that I stopped for a particually long time, and not that I definitely will.
Talking of things that I may start up agian, Java comic has been confirmed by test subject as having a suitable plot (I guess you can't really jump the shark if you don't have a series) and should resume progress shortly. It will probably have even more wildly inconsistent art styles than before, be fairly much longer and may even contain a train. Which people may or may not be fighting atop. Because train fights are pretty cool.

The Java Comic, coming to a blog near you some time in the distant future. Probably.

Topic no.2
I was thinking today. There are some cool things that look really awesome to do, but if you actually did them in real life, just wouldn't be cool. Like taking your hat off when somebody dies. The fact somebody died would so completely overshadow the fact that you are awesomly taking off your hat in a 'I'm a cool person in a hat' way, that it would be disrespectful to even think about that.
The solution I came up with was to be in a movie. This resolves most of these problems because you would still be cool, but nobody would have actually died.
It's also another great reason to wear a hat (as I may have already mentioned to some people). I should probably get a hat sometime, but I think it would look silly.
Speaking of hats, it would be kind of cool to have a hat and trenchcoat guy on my team, if I ever had a team. Conspiracy theorist or private detective a plus. Exept I've already sort of chosen the team of 'take over the world-ness', and trenchcoat and hat people tend to be the good guys. Or at least usually some sort of anti-hero.
Can you get evil trenchcoaty hat people? It just feels kind of wrong.

A Potential Hiatus?

So, I can't log into my blog from my laptop anymore. I'm not sure why, but whatever the reason it means posts are probably going to be few and far between atm.
Although seeming as  I have a giant evil piece evil for C++ coursework due in next week, I'll probably be living in the Labs so you never know.Maybe I'll be here the whole time.
C++ is apparently Java's nonsensical irritating little brother. I can't even get it to say 'hello word'.
(A good workman always blames his tools.)
Still, the weather's good (really windy these last few days), my cat has really really really cute kittens (which I'll hopefully get to see in person soon!) and alot of other dandy stuff.

And Dr.who has once again made me question myself on issues such as 'How would I really react if I met a gooey slightly alien me, who was still me? Or 'What would I do if I was a gooey slightly alien me, and I met the original me?'.
I guess it would have to happern for you to know, but after I got over the shock and stuff I know there are a few things I'd like to take the oppertunity to say. The only thing is I'm not sure I would be able to trust that this was an exact replica of me, and not an exact evil replica of me. Nothing ever has exact replica's of you in it without them trying to kill you.
However, being as I would simultaniously be the replica of me, it would be up to me as a replica to convince the original me of me being good.

**The C++ cavelry has arrived, so I'll be editing this up later. :) **
 Breaking news!!!
I have offically got C++ to say hello world. All hope is not lost.

War of the beverages

It's pretty late (because I'm trying to work. Trying.) and so I think my sense of rationality and stuff is a little bit skewed. Hence when I saw a poll on 'Tea or Coffee', I had a bit of a mini crisis.
Ever since I was little, I've always had an opinion on this matter.
I remember the days when I would have fervently argued for coffee, clearly being the greater drink. I couldn't understand how anyone could bring themselves to drink tea, it tasted so bad. Then one day (in the 6th form Common room) someone reminded me of a forgotten fact. Tea is the British English way. ( I can't really speak for Scot/Ire/Wale, because I don't know what you lot drink. But Sam the eagle has made me always want to say 'The British way', so I'm probably going to and that's probably final.)

Even when I was small and liked neither drink, I had heard that tea was the drink of the England. It had taken a little effort (from my lovely friend Joanne. Thanks mate.) to get me to start drinking coffee, so should I not give tea this same chance?

I (correctly) guessed that after about seven cups, tea should become a drinkable drink.
Though it was tough at first, I pushed through and became a drinker of tea.
There have been ups and downs, fluctuations in how much I preferred coffee but recently I feel I've reached that point where (If I'm making it myself, at Uni ) I would almost say I liked them equally. They're different drinks, they serve different purposes. Coffee can wake you up, make you feel slightly more alive at the book ends of the day. A more milky coffee is also a calming drink (although it doesn't wake you up.) Tea is a drink for relaxing. And those times when you just want to feel a little more English, or can't be bothered with a cafetiere.
Why should I choose between these two drinks? It's like choosing between two really good friends. Choosing coffee feels like I'm betraying my "English is the best way ever" part of me, but choosing tea just feels wrong.
If the war of the hot caffeine drinks ever comes, I guess this is one fight I'll have to sit out. When it's all over I'll come out of my cave supporting whichever team won while quietly morning about the loss of the other (and the destruction of so much civilisation.)
I feel like a deserter, but I don't even know which side I'm deserting.
